ECHO PARK AVE / GUEST HOUSE

Designed by SLA Schneider Leuscher Architects, This rustic rear yard building is not an ADU, but an ALQ: Accessory Living Quarters. Basically a guest house with a full bath but no kitchen. This 300 square foot building has a mezzanine at the base of a triangular tower. There’s a skylight at the top. The ceiling is paneled in Douglas Fir. The windows are Douglas Fir. The siding is nickel gap rough cedar. There’s a murphy bed in the bookcase. The bathroom is a triangle. The roof is metal. A steel column through the center of the structure anchors the floating walls of the triangular tower.
